Edgemont Weight Management Clinic is our dedicated weight clinic, in the same building as the pharmacy. It is pharmacist-led by Wessam Sakr, BScPharm, RPh, a Certified Bariatric Educator and Certified Diabetes Educator with over nine years of direct patient care.
Running it as a separate clinic rather than a pharmacy counter service is deliberate. Weight management needs scheduled assessment and follow-up, which is a different thing from dispensing, and it deserves its own time.

Who actually runs the weight management program?
The program is run by Edgemont Weight Management Clinic, our dedicated weight clinic in the same building as the pharmacy. It is pharmacist-led by Wessam Sakr, BScPharm, RPh, a Certified Bariatric Educator and Certified Diabetes Educator with over nine years of direct patient care.
What does it cost to get started?
The Peptide-Based (GLP-1) Program is $155 in total, an $80 initial consultation plus three monthly dose-optimization follow-ups at $25 each. Longer combined programs run from $500 to $1,500 depending on length and whether OPTIFAST is included. Medication and OPTIFAST product costs are billed separately.
Do I need a referral or a doctor's note?
No. You can book a consultation directly with the clinic, and the assessment will determine what is clinically appropriate for you. Book online or call (587) 952-2900.
Which weight loss medications do you work with?
Primarily GLP-1 receptor agonists, semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound), prescribed only when clinically appropriate after assessment. Intensive programs also use the OPTIFAST meal replacement protocol.
Is this safe alongside my other medications?
That is exactly why the model is pharmacist-led. Your prescriptions are reviewed at assessment and again at dispensing, so interactions and contraindications are caught before you start rather than after. Tolerability and side effects are monitored at every scheduled follow-up.
