About us
We are an independent pharmacy in Edgemont Shopping Centre, NW Calgary. Independent means the person filling your prescription is the same person you spoke to last month, and they have time to answer the question.

What independent actually changes
It is easy to say and hard to demonstrate, so here is the concrete version. There is no head office setting the number of prescriptions per hour. Nobody is moved between locations. If you ask a question that takes fifteen minutes, it takes fifteen minutes.
That is the whole difference, and it shows up in the specific places where a pharmacy is either useful or not: a medication that stopped working, a schedule that has become unmanageable, a trip that needs planning, or a parent whose seven prescriptions came from three prescribers who have never spoken.

What it looks like

What we are set up for
Any pharmacy can fill a prescription. These are the things we have deliberately built around.
Prescribing without a doctor's appointment
Alberta pharmacists can assess and prescribe for a list of common conditions. It is the most useful thing we do that people do not know about.
A designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre
Yellow fever vaccine and the international certificate can only be given at a designated centre. We are one, and no referral is needed.
Compounding
Preparing a medication individually when the manufactured version does not fit the patient.
Blister packing at no charge
Medications sorted by day and time, prepared free, and delivered free.
Regulation
Pharmacies in Alberta are licensed and regulated by the Alberta College of Pharmacy, and every pharmacist practising here is registered with it. You can look up any pharmacist or pharmacy on the College's public register.
