Is a medication review covered?
Alberta Health funds pharmacist medication reviews for many people taking several medications or managing a chronic condition. Ask us and we will check whether you qualify before booking the time.
Can you help me choose a meter or sensor?
Yes, and it is worth asking rather than picking off the shelf. The right one depends on your coverage, your dexterity and eyesight, and how you actually plan to use it.
Can a pharmacist adjust my diabetes medication?
A pharmacist can review your medications, identify problems and work with your prescriber, and in Alberta pharmacists with additional prescribing authority can do more. Come in and ask what is possible in your situation.
Do you carry continuous glucose monitors?
Call 403-930-5806 to check current stock and what your plan covers. Coverage for sensors changes and it is worth confirming before you commit to a system.
Should I get a flu shot if I have diabetes?
Yes. Diabetes raises the risk of complications from influenza, which puts you in the group where the case for it is strongest.
